Group description
we have several research lines with which the Thesis project relates. The main lines are:
1. Urban and Territorial Studies. This is one of the fundamental lines of GISMAT due to its tradition and for grouping the greatest number of researchers at this time. It is situated within the context of studies of the city that are being developed from one of the most important traditions of Sociology: Urban Sociology. Specially vulnerability, segregation, gentrification, local identity, touristification, etc.
2. Local Development and Participation. In this line an important group of studies and researches was grouped, which have had as an essential object the development of participatory methodologies in the field of research, through the applicability of what has been called as Action and Participation Research. Its application to different areas of social reality, have constituted the essential programmatic scope of its development, from the problems of urban and local development to the most recent studies that have taken place . Participation is a complex process that needs to be energized through a transformative intervention in the areas.

Research topic
We have a relevant line of research: City and social and territorial vulnerability. We have a regional project VUPACI until March 2019 and also now another national project about Housing and social vulnerability. So we are interested in research in these two lines: urban and vulnerability, specially among old people, young people, inmigrants, etc.
We focus our research among social groups and territories that has been affected by last crisis. We are interested in resilience and social movements that allow these territories to be resilient.
