Group description
The ASSE research group is focused in three main research lines:
- Computer vision systems applied to different environments. These systems, under the paradigm of artificial intelligence, offer solutions to specific tasks within the manipulation of data from different sources, so their research has focused on the design and development of algorithms for data mining.
- Artificial intelligence to develop realistic human behaviours. Mainly focused on the acquisition of social skills through technological simulators and educational videogames.
- Design and implementation of new technologies to promote accessibility and gender equality principles.
The ASSE group has been recognized since 2007 with more than 30 articles in international journals indexed in the JCR in both, Science and Social, Edition, and several international conferences and workshops.
Some members of the group have participated in various European (H2020) projects such as RAGE (http://rageproject.eu/), BEACONING (https://beaconing.eu/) or RHEA (http://www.rhea-project.eu).
Besides, It is worth mentioning the participation and coordination in more than 20 research projects of competitive calls (national and technology transfer projects to companies).

This group works and narrowly collaborates with several Universities such as Harvard University, New York University, Tufts University, the University of Aberystwyth or University of La Sapienza, among others.

The ASSE group is grounded on these main research lines:
- Intelligent Expert Systems
- Computer Vision Systems
- New technologies to promote accessibility and gender equality principles
- Educational videogames for the arts (STEAM)
- Virtual reality to train social skills.
- Arts and Technologies in Leadership (ATL).
- Machine and deep learning to simulate realistic human behaviours, i.e: audiences for public speaking or job interviews).

The transference of knowledge with ASSE group is endorsed by several companies and universities such as:
