The Complutense University of Madrid is about to launch UNA4CAREER, a post-doctoral recruitment program co-financed by the European Union through the COFUND scheme within Horizon 2020
The program is looking for collaborations with organizations in the non-academic sector that are interested in hosting post-doctoral researchers so that they can carry out secondments at its facilities, developing a scientific project that has been previously agreed upon by both sides.
Projects awarded under UNA4CAREER are expected to fulfill the triple I:
INTERNATIONAL
Hired fellows may be of any nationality. Transnational cooperation in the development of the proposed projects will be valued.
INTERDISCIPLINAR
Collaboration between research groups from different complementary disciplines is expected from the proposed projects.
INTERSECTORAL
The proposed projects are expected to interact with organizations in the non academic sector, such as companies, administrations, museums, libraries, NGOs, ...
HOW TO ACHIEVE THE TRIPLE I?
Through short secondments -1 to 6 months - in organizations in the non-academic sector, or research groups (other than those in which they develop their project) the hired fellows will be able to fulfill the triple I
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for non-academic organisations (companies, museums, libraries, administrations, NGOs, ...) interested in hosting for short periods (1-6 months) post-doctoral researchers hired through the UNA4CAREER programme, to collaborate with them in the development of their projects.
BENEFITS FOR THE ORGANISATIONS HOSTING FELLOWS
Costs related to the research activity of the fellow at the hosting institution are covered by the programme.
Excellence of the fellows guaranteed by a highly competitive international selection procedure (according to Marie Skłodwska Curie programme standards).
Possibility of expanding the network of international contacts and collaborations.
New funding opportunities arising from an expanded network of contacts. Possibility to access new consortia.
Opportunities for two-way knowledge transfer: new techniques, methodologies, approaches...
Intersectoriality: given the nature of the projects financed through the programme, the possibility for innovative non-academic organisations to strenghthen their links with the academic sector is to be expected.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
You will have to fill in an expression of interest with your contact details and information about your organisation, including the infrastructures and the tangible and intangible assets that you can make available for collaboration and what your interests are when collaborating with the academic sector.
During the UNA4CAREER call for proposals, potential candidates may contact you to propose collaborating in the framework of their projects through a secondment.
If an agreement is reached, this will be set out in a letter of commitment that the candidate will attach to her/his application.
